Pastor Blake with his wife Holly and sons Bendt & Wesley

Our Pastor

Highland Chapel Baptist Church has been under the faithful leadership of Dr. Floyd Reynolds since its founding on September 5, 1968.

After fifty years of faithful service and upon his decision to retire, Pastor Reynolds asked the Lord to send someone to take the pastorate position. God led Pastor Blake Stiles and his family to HCBC, where he became the new pastor on February 4, 2018.

Pastor Stiles is a 2015 graduate of West Coast Baptist College (Lancaster, CA), where he earned a four-year, bachelor degree in pastoral theology. He plans to continue his education by earning a masters degree and a doctorate degree in the future.

Our Church Beliefs

We believe in the verbal inspiration of the Word of God.

We believe in the infallibility of the Word of God (Kings James Bible - Textus Receptus).

We believe in the virgin birth of Jesus Christ.

We believe in the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ for mankind.

We believe in the blood atonement for sins.

We believe in salvation by grace through faith alone.

We believe in the literal resurrection of Jesus Christ.

We believe in the imminent return of Jesus Christ.

We believe in the church to be ordained by God and established upon Jesus Christ, the only organization through which God does His work.

We believe that each church is subject to only God and no other power.

We believe that each church is an individual organization governed by the people for the people in the light of God’s Word.

We believe that the primary purpose of the church is to fulfill the great commission of Matthew 28:18-20.

We believe that salvation will bring a definite change in a person’s life; therefore, Christians should be a peculiar people.

We believe in a literal burning Hell and a literal glorious Heaven.

We believe that churches should be separate from the world.

We believe the church should be supported totally by tithes and offerings from the people and never by any sales tactics of any nature.

Our Church History

On September 5, 1968, a group of people met together for the purpose of establishing a new church in the Cedar Hill area. The people meeting together consisted of seven families— twenty-one people total. This would be the beginning of Highland Chapel Baptist Church, founded by Floyd Reynolds.

Initially meeting in a tent and eventually an old garage building, the Lord blessed the church people with the land and finances to build a church building. The first service in the new building was held on March 30, 1969. The building underwent two more additions in the following years.
